Belarus
Belarus, Which capital is Minsk, situated in the heart of Europe is very characterized by its unique nature and historical places ranging from museums, citadels, palaces and castles that offer special interest for group tours to delve the culture of this country from literature art and religion.
Having lived in Belarus for a long period, I supported the development of bilateral relations and business exchanges between Belarus and Lebanon. My solid contacts with the Belarussian authorities led to the establishment of air links between the two countries via Belavia – Belarussian Airlines, our company was the first to launch a direct line Minsk – Beirut – Minsk in 1994. My efforts were greatly appreciated by the Belarus government, and I was appointed a Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus to Lebanon.
Since then, my Consular office has been strengthening the relationship between the two countries acting as the proper link facilitating and providing services spread on different levels. The Consular Office has fervently worked on upgrading commercial and economic ties with Belarus, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus. This solid business relationship and the progress in Belarussian industry offers a wide opportunity for the Lebanese businessmen and traders to be motivated towards new investments and beneficial enterprises in Belarus.
The relation between our two countries was further consolidated after the signature of mutual agreements, supported by the policy of the Head of State H.E. Mr. Alexender Loukachenko defending the economical liberalization that is quite promising and lately realized by the President's encouraging achievement. Other accomplishments during this period were the two-way high level government and presidents visits, organization of Belarusian Days of Culture in Lebanon, the joint Lebanese Belarussian Commission on trade and economic cooperation, and the continuous support of the Belarusian community in the country such as providing necessary documents for the Belarussian citizens residing in Lebanon and solving all their problems.
On another level, educational services offered include guidance and assistance for students who go from Lebanon to study in Belarus. Students are exposed to a different culture and dynamic economy, offering a variety of career options for them to embark on. Overall, the Consular Office has ensured that collaboration and exchanges on all levels remains very high.
